Do you dare to live in the hut hanging on the cliff of the Alps?
At the junction of Slovenia and Italy, an ice and snow hut named "Kanin Winter Cabin" stands on a high cliff. The hut is narrow and small, only 104 square feet (less than 10 square meters). If people who are hiking in the Julian Alps in Slovenia have the courage to climb this cliff, do not know whether they have the courage to live in such a shaky hut?
The original intention of this ice and snow hut is to create a lounge in such a remote place to study the impact of the harsh climate and the rock terrain here. The materials used in the hut include cross composite wood, glass and aluminum panels, and the exterior is also reinforced with steel cables. Due to extreme weather, the previous two installations failed. Finally, with the support of the Slovenian army, the hut was successfully transported to the designated place by helicopter.
The cabin is simple, can accommodate 9 people, and has three rest platforms. If you don't have acrophobia, you can stand in front of the panoramic window facing the valley and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains, including the highest peaks of Slovenia, Tregraf Peak, Soka Valley and the Adriatic Sea. The only decoration in the house is the hunting trophy hanging on the wall -- antlers.
The mountain where the hut is located is called Mount Kanin, which stands in the Slovenian resort town of Bovec. The town is famous for countless adventure sports throughout the year. Of course, taking a rest in the ice and snow hut is also one of the adventure activities!
